Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below shows time periods that are reserved not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor whether or not your course will be taking its final exam in this time.
Before you register, make sure to read the Goethe exam guidelines and terms and conditions on each exam page. Also, be sure to sign up for the right exam level.
Locations
The Exam Schedule lists the locations in which DEP conducts operator qualification exams. Check out the individual exam pages for additional information about exam topics, exam conditions and conditions, and other guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness or visual or hearing impairment, you should contact the exam provider directly and make sure to submit a thorough documentation when you register.
Faculty may find their exam times via the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. The Registrar's Office also has a list with exam times for courses that are required to have an exam by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class time of the final exam weeks.

Registration
The exam schedule is available online and students are encouraged to review it. However it is crucial to note that the exam schedule can change at any time. Students should therefore consult their instructors for the correct time and date of their test. Students should also make sure to print out the official list and bring it to their exam.

Exam locations make every effort to accommodate students with special needs. The nature and the extent of these needs must be noted on the registration and verified by a doctor's attestation. In addition, the exam locations must respect confidentiality and be maintained.

If a student has three exams scheduled for the same day, it is suggested to contact their department or instructor to schedule an alternate exam. While it is possible to take three exams in one day, it could result in an increase in stress levels and affect the quality of the exam. The instructor may not be able to offer a makeup test on another day.
Students should review their course materials prior to taking the exam and must practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that measures your ability to read and write German. The results of the test are given using a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test receive an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate confirms that the student has achieved the level of language A1. This level corresponds to the first level of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The examination is free of charge. Students must bring an ID that is valid for government purposes to the examination. Those without a valid photo ID will be disqualified.
Fees
If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you'll need to pay the exam fee. This is in addition to the course fee.
Practice assessments allow you to get familiar with the format, wording, and difficulty of the questions on the test. They help you evaluate your level, discover areas of knowledge that aren't covered and increase your chances of passing the exam.
It is important to note that the exam fee isn't refundable. Exam results can only be received by email, not via telephone.
